Biography

Dr. Ray attends on the Infectious Diseases Consult Service, the AIDS ward, and the General Medicine Service at Grady Memorial Hospital. In addition, she staffs the Fulton County Department of Health and Wellness Tuberculosis Clinic 4 days per month and serves as the scheduler for all Emory-associated physicians who staff the clinic (20 or 25 shifts per month). She is the Assoc. Hospital Epidemiologist at Grady Memorial Hospital and in that capacity participates in infection control and prevention activities. In her hospital epidemiology work she has focused on the problem of nosocomial bloodstream infections. After standardizing surveillance methods, she has turned herattention to improved data analysis and feedback in addition to the design and implementation of education and systems interventions to reduce the incidence of catheter-associated bloodstream infections
