Biography

Dr. Rengarajan is trained in immunology (Laurie Glimcher) and TB pathogenesis (Eric Rubin), and has established an NIH-funded TB research program at the Emory Vaccine Center. In addition to her appointment at the Emory Vaccine Center, she is also Assistant Professor of Medicine (Infectious Diseases) at the Emory University School of Medicine and a researcher at Yerkes National Primate Research Center. Dr. Rengarajan is the Co-Project Director of TBRU-ASTRa Projects 1 and 3. Collaborative studies with Dr. Susan Ray at Emory on studies of memory T cells in LTBI served as the basis for the hypotheses to be tested in Project 1. With Dr. Ernst, she founded the International Conference on Human Immunity to Tuberculosis.
