Welcome to TBRU-ASTRa
Tuberculosis is one of the world’s deadliest diseases, infecting one third of the world’s population. A sustained effort in TB research is necessary to better understand and manage the disease.
The TBRU-ASTRa team hopes that this website will be informative for scientists, teachers, students, journalists and others interested in gaining a deeper understanding of our tuberculosis research.
Collaborating institutions include Emory University, University of California, San Francisco, Tulane National Primate Research Center, the La Jolla Institute of Allergy and Immunology, Aeras, the DeKalb County (Georgia) Board of Health, the Armauer Hansen Research Institute, Kenya Medical Research Institute, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The project is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) under cooperative agreement: U19AI111211. Read the press release.
